On November 28th at 7 PM, Sanibel Sea School will host an evening of fly fishing films and discussion. The 2017 documentary Fly Fishing in the Anthropocene explores the ecosystems and interactions between humans and the environment in a remote region of Russia, and questions whether it is still possible for fishermen to find true wilderness. Expect beautiful fishing scenery and a great soundtrack. A select number of short fly fishing films will also be shown.

On November 30th at 4 PM, Dr. Ross Boucek of The Bonefish and Tarpon Trust will visit Sanibel to speak about the conservation and restoration of bonefish, tarpon, and permit fisheries and habitats. His focus will be on the Florida Keys, a world class recreational fishing destination.

Both events will be held at Sanibel Sea School (455 Periwinkle Way), and are donation-based. No registration is required, walk-ins are welcome. Sanibel Sea School is a 501c3 nonprofit whose mission is to improve the ocean’s future, one person at a time. Click here to learn more.
